Commissioning Manager
The role is for a Commissioning Manager to work for a Building Services Mechanical and Electrical contractor. The candidate must have an excellent working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Building Services to be considered for this role.
The candidate will be based on site for the duration of the projects, helping deliver each project to the specified design programme, its original cost and within time constraints.
The M&E value for each project is approximately £5 million, there being 5 projects in total with an M&E build value of approximately £29M M&E, and the Commissioning Manager will have complete responsibility to manage the commissioning companies on site, ensuring complete compatibility of the electrical and mechanical systems for the client in accordance with requirements and design specifications of a project.
The candidate will be responsible for providing commission ability appraisals, act as an advisory service and provide management supervision of the commissioning contractors, as well as pre commission testing checks, fault finding, system development and design evaluations.
The role will also incorporate frequent meetings with the Client and Main Contractor, allowing them an insight into the build program and giving updates on the commissioning and preparation of the building for handover to the client. You will be required to produce commissioning programmes to co inside with the builder’s construction programmes and ensure that the systems are being fitted to the original as fitted drawings.
The client is looking to also advance the individuals career by giving them the potential opportunity to oversee the commissioning management of more than just this one particular project, giving the person eventual management of the commissioning division, with possibilities to recruit further commissioning engineers in the future to help manage the various commissioning processes from design to hand over with the client.
